Crystal's Story

La’Creasia Wantrell Forrest, better known as Crystal, grew up in Liberty Hill - the oldest African American community in North Charleston South Carolina.

She is the loving wife of Dorsett Dewayne Forrest, the mother of Jesse Broughton and the grandmother of the beautiful Alise Broughton and Jesse Broughton Jr.

​

Crystal is a class act with a dream. Her vision is to leave a legacy that will live on long after she is gone. She is the proud owner and operator of Crystal’s Catering & Sweet Treats.

She has aspired to become one of the best caterers in the Charleston area. Her unique craft of cooking and presentation of many delicious southern cuisines has been talked about in many rooms and across social media. One of her famous quotes is “presentation is everything.”

In her spare time she loves helping others take care of their natural hair. She also enjoys giving recommendations for designs on how to make your house a home.

Crystal believes that her cooking skills are one God’s gifts to her. She starts her day off with her favorite scripture, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” People often ask her how she does it.  She replies, “With God.”
